BUSINESS HISTORY
Egypt Plantation Antique Barn was established in 1997 with the conversion
of Bud's Antique Car Restoration shop building into an Antiques
Mall. This change took place as a natural development of the Northington
family's interest and love of local history. Named after the Northington's
adjoining historic estate, "Egypt Plantation", the antique
business compliments the regional heritage and eco tourism development
efforts.
Trade Day events were added in 1998, generating additional customers.
Other family members also contribute to the business with their
own ventures including:
|
|
Plantation Tours of the 1849 Heard Northington
House, Grounds and Slave House |
|
|
Local History Research and Tours in the 1900 Egypt
Depot Museum |
|
|
Party Facilities at the 1900 Northington General
Store and adjoining Saloon |
PRIVATE COLLECTION EXHIBITS
Bud shares his personal collection of Antique Table Fans, Gas Station
Signs, Borden Milk product containers, carriers & advertisement
products in beautiful antique display cabinets and counters throughout
the store.
